Yusi Liu (Yumi)

 

Yusi Liu is a film and media composer, jazz arranger and pianist. She received her masters of music in theory and composition at New York University. She also holds degrees in music composition (B.M.) under the studying with well-know American composer, Huck Hodge at the University of Washington.
    Though Liu is classically trained, her works cover a wide range of styles including chamber works, string quartet, percussion ensembles, big bands and jazz ensemble pieces. Her works have been performed at the New York University (Percussion ensemble), the University of Washington, Bellevue College, the Suffolk County Community College and the KNKX (88.5) Jazz Radio station in Seattle. Her film scores have premiered at NYU News Doc Film Festival, Seattle Latino Film Festival, Thuhfilmclub etc.Her recent work received funding through the NYC Women’s Fund for Media, Music, and Theatre.
